Mozambique currency: Metical (MTn)

The Mozambican currency consists of 100 centavos. Although the currency is called metical, one speaks of one meticai or a hundred meticais. In July 2006 the second metical was launched which practically meant that due to inflation three zeros had to scrapped of the previous metical (MZM). Exhange rate (January 2009): 1 GBP= 36.3 MTn; 1 EUR=33.4 MTn; 1 USD= 25.4 MTn
