In arid Botswana rain is associated with wealth and is considered a blessing. Hence the name for the currency, and the national motto, “pula” which translates in “rain” from Setswana. A pula consist of 100 thebe. There are currently bank notes of 10, 20, 50 and 100 pula. Many thanks, trip was great! Saw the big five in the Kruger and swam with whale-sharks. Lots of long days driving but that's the nature of these trips if you want to see loads.
