Southern Africa Travel Guide

Cape Floral Region

Country: South Africa
Not a particular site but an unique vegetation make up this World Heritage wonder. Fynbos (“fine bush”) is a shrub-like vegetation that’s unique to the Western and Eastern Cape. Although the Cape Floral Kingdom is only 6% of southern Africa, it has half the species on the subcontinent. Aloes, proteas and geraniums are indigenous to this region. Best time to visit: spring time (August-September).
