Southern Africa Travel Guide

Baboons

The (chacma) baboon is a common sight in southern Africa and their habitat isn’t confined to wild parks. They are often spotted crossing the road in large groups as they are social mammals. As they appeal to their distant relatives many humans feel compelled to feed baboons. Please don’t! This makes them dependent, desperate and dangerous. Keep in mind the adage: “A fed baboon is a dead baboon.”

TESTIMONIAL

Just to let you know that we are back and had an awesome time! All the transfers and stays went smoothly. Unfortunately the weather in Moz was against us and couldn't do all the dolphin dives, but we will be back. We are very impressed with Dolphin Encounters and the work they do.
